Aldara 5% Pump Cream 2g contains Imiquimod 5%, an immune response modifier used to treat certain skin conditions by stimulating the body’s natural defenses. It is prescribed for:
- Actinic (solar) keratosis on the face and scalp
- Superficial basal cell carcinoma (sBCC) when surgery is not appropriate
- External genital and perianal warts (condyloma acuminata) in adults
Imiquimod works by activating immune cells in the skin to release cytokines, which help destroy abnormal or virus-infected cells.
Key Benefits:
- Non-invasive treatment for precancerous and cancerous skin lesions
- Clears external genital warts without surgery
- Stimulates local immune response for targeted action
- Supplied in a convenient metered-dose pump
