Carbimazole 5mg Tablets (100’s) are an antithyroid medication used to treat hyperthyroidism, a condition where the thyroid gland produces excessive thyroid hormones. Each tablet contains 5mg of Carbimazole, which is converted in the body to methimazole, the active form that inhibits thyroid hormone synthesis.

Carbimazole works by blocking the thyroid peroxidase enzyme, reducing the production of thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3). This helps alleviate symptoms such as weight loss, palpitations, anxiety, sweating, and irritability, and is often used as a long-term treatment or as preparation for thyroid surgery or radioactive iodine therapy.
