Yasmin Tablets 21’s is a combined oral contraceptive pill (COC) used to prevent pregnancy and regulate menstrual cycles. Each tablet contains two active ingredients:
- Drospirenone 3mg – a synthetic progestin
- Ethinylestradiol 0.03mg – a synthetic estrogen
Together, they work by:
- Inhibiting ovulation (preventing the release of an egg)
- Thickening cervical mucus to block sperm entry
- Altering the uterine lining to prevent implantation
Yasmin is also prescribed to manage irregular periods, moderate acne, and premenstrual symptoms in women who desire hormonal contraception.
